GEORGE PIMENTEL — GETTY

Monday night, Miley Cyrus canceled her show in Charlotte with less than an hour’s notice, much to the enraged consternation of fans who had shelled out for everything from travel to clothes bought just for the event. The reason given:

Cyrus has been diagnosed with flu and doctors have ordered her to rest.

Oddly enough, even at the moment of Charlotte’s cancellation, show promoter Live Nation insisted that her Tuesday night show at Raleigh’s PNC Arena “will go on as planned.” Well, we’ll see. As of early afternoon, a bit less than six hours from the 7 p.m. showtime, the word from PNC Arena is that, “We have not heard anything different at this point.”
