— Raleigh police arrested Craig Mitchell Sopo, 33, Tuesday evening on charges that he twice broke a 6 to 8-week-old baby's ribs earlier this year.

In one arrest warrant, police said that the baby’s ribs were broken between Jan. 23 and 27. A second warrant charges that the same thing happened between Jan. 30 and Feb. 12.

Sopo, of 1428 Hatherleigh Court in Raleigh, was charged with two counts of intentional child abuse inflicting serious injury.

The warrant does not specify Sopo’s relationship to the child.

Sopo surrendered at the Wake County Detention Center and was released on bail pending a court appearance Wednesday.
