The First Tee of the Triangle members chosen for scholar class

Two members of The First Tee of the Triangle have been named to a national group of scholars who are recognized for excelling in academics, leadership and character development.

The First Tee of the Triangle is the local chapter of a national organization dedicated to making a positive impact on young people through the game of golf.

The First Tee of the Triangle members Vance Barber, a senior at Millbrook High in Raleigh, and Amanda Levy, a senior at Wake Forest High, are among 102 participants recognized across the nation in the 2014 class of The First Tee scholars.

The recognition makes Vance and Amanda eligible for scholarships offered by the national organization The First Tee.

Vance plans to attend the University of North Carolina at Asheville.

Amanda plans to attend the University of North Carolina at Pembroke.
