Louise Garrison: Ode to our yellow cloud

April 13, 2014

On the bright side of our annual dust storm:

Furtively, the yellow cloud descends

Holds hostage spring’s rebirth

The season’s welcome mat rescinds

While spores powder the earth

Misery of proportions literary

Humanity endures

This price of spring so temporary

Resplendent days ensures

And though we find ourselves resigned

To Mother Nature’s song

Even yellow clouds are silver-lined

The pollen won’t reign long

Louise Garrison
