NCSU students startled when man enters dorm room saying cab was ready

From staff reportsApril 14, 2014

— An incident reported to N.C. State University police Saturday brought a reminder to the campus community to remember to lock doors.

Police said that some residents at the Avent Ferry Complex residence hall at 2112 Avent Ferry Road reported that a man wearing a cap and “black uniform-style clothing” entered their apartment about 5:15 a.m. and said “something ... about a taxicab being ready to pick up someone.”

The man then left, and no one was hurt.

Campus police reminded the community of a standard list of safety precautions that begins with, “Always lock your doors and windows, even when you are at home.”
