The writer of the April 12 letter “ Quack, quack” parrots some wildly inaccurate right-wing talking points.
Atheism is not a religion; it is the absence of religion. There are no gods to believe in. No prayers, churches, clergy or holy books. Reality and its exploration are primary. Faith is reserved for people who believe, “We can do it!” Environmentalism is not a religion for the same reasons, even though many religious people are environmentalists. The divinity of nature is a common theme around the world. The protection of life on earth now and into the future are the primary concern.
Calling redistribution religion is pure delusion. The writer might as well have said it is about deregulation.
