Duke University-based Ciompi Quartet closes out its 2013-14 season with a wide-ranging concert Saturday night in Duke’s Baldwin Auditorium. The program begins with Heinrich Wilhelm Ernst’s String Quartet, then offers the premiere of a commissioned string quartet by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Melinda Wagner. The concert concludes with Ernest Chausson’s lushly romantic Concerto for Violin, Piano and String Quartet, with guests Gabriel Richard (violin) and Andrew Tyson (piano). 8 p.m. $15-$20 (students $10). 919-684-4444 or dukeperformances.duke.edu.
