Weather will turn wet and gray for Triangle this weekend

From staff reportsApril 18, 2014

— People with plans to play outside this weekend, especially Saturday, are not getting much help from nature, with rain forecast for Friday night and Saturday and generally gray skies for Sunday.

The National Weather Service said a low-pressure system moving toward the state from the southwest will bring rain Friday night, though it may take some time to reach the ground.

Late Friday night and all day Saturday, however, there will be a 70 percent chance of rain. Saturday night drops to a 60 percent chance.

The clouds should be mostly wrung out by Easter morning, but the day will be mostly cloudy and windy, forecasters said.

There is some good news for later Sunday, with WTVD meteorologist Don Schwenneker saying, “You should see some sunshine to end the weekend.”
