Colorful candidate enlivens House race in Greensboro

Posted by Craig Jarvis on April 18, 2014

It’s a crowded field of candidates out there in state House District 58, where four Democrats are running for the seat being vacated by Rep. Alma Adams of Greensboro, who is running for Congress.

No Republicans are in the mix, but there’s plenty of fun without them.

In a roundup story the Greensboro News-Record ran recently, candidate Tigress McDaniel, 37, caught Dome’s attention.

According to the newspaper, McDaniel considers election to the state House a stepping stone to the White House, because she says she plans to run for president in 2016. The paper says she calls herself “Queen Get ’Er Done” and is in a doctoral program at N.C. A&T. She has studied swine husbandry and law. She also has owned a fashion company, an estate sale business, a wine shop and other things. And she sings.

Her www.queengeterdone.com website offers a lot more about a candidate who would certainly liven up committee meetings in Raleigh.
