Durham police are looking for an infant who was last seen Saturday morning with her father.
Rodney Bryant, 26, sped away with Tamiyah Elssy Bryant, 10 months, in the car on Interstate 40 about 8:15 a.m. Saturday, police said. The white 2002 Suzuki XL7 has a Washington State license plate that reads ACK7454, Officer Daniel Edwards said.
Edwards said the parents were on their way to Durham from their home in Angier when the suspect put the mother out of the vehicle.
She was on her way to work, and he was beating her, Edwards said. Shes OK. She did not need any medical treatment.
Police described Bryant as a light-skinned black man, 6 feet tall, weighing 220 pounds, with tattoos of praying hands on the right side of his neck, M.O.B, on the left side of his neck and MACKTOWN on the back of his hands. He has dark short hair and was wearing an orange coat and camouflage pants.
He has threatened to kill himself and the girl, a news release from the Durham Police Department said.
