RALEIGH — Police charged Sunday that a man they arrested had $200,000 to $300,000 worth of stolen goods from Lowe’s and Home Depot, intending to sell them.
Edgar Armando Alvarez, 38, of 3609 Cove Drive in Raleigh was arrested when police stopped him on Trawick Road about 6:30 a.m., records show.
An arrest warrant accused Alvarez of organized retail theft, which the law says means taking more than $1,500 from retail stores in a 90-day period.
The warrant included two other charges – possession of stolen goods and receiving stolen goods.
The receiving-goods charge specified $1,200 worth of hammers, measuring tapes, other tools and work gloves taken from Home Depot
Alvarez was being held in lieu of $50,000 bail for a court appearance Monday.
