Detectives believe Harris knew Jackson prior to his death on Thursday. Police have not released details about the incident, other than to say that it involved a gunshot wound and was “not random.”

Emergency personnel found Jackson, 35, unconscious at the apartment complex where he lived, at 4549 Hargrove Road, on Thursday evening, according to police.

Harris was held Friday without option of posting bail at the Wake County Detention Center. County records list his employer as “labor service.”
