Raleigh perennial gardens hold spring open house

From staff reportsApril 25, 2014

It’s peak blooming season at Juniper Level Botanic Garden and Plant Delights Nursery in Raleigh, where spring open house events are coming up soon.

The 10-acre botanical garden has more than 22,000 plants collected from around the world. See such perennial flowers as Aram lily, hardy orchids, iris, jack-in-the-pulpit, phlox and lilies and dozens of wildflowers in full bloom.

Shop for perennials in the adjacent Plant Delights Nursery. A portion of sales revenues from the nursery funds the private botanical garden. The two facilities are open to visitors over two weekends each in spring, summer, winter and fall.

The spring open houses take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 2, 3, 9 and 10; and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. May 4 and 11. The address is 9241 Sauls Road.
