New Bern Avenue shooting leaves 1 dead, 2 wounded in Raleigh

— Raleigh Police responded to a shooting incident that occurred outdoors in the 1400 block of New Bern Avenue at 2:45 p.m. Saturday.

Three male victims of the incident were transported to WakeMed, two by EMS and one by a privately owned vehicle. One of the victims later died.

Police identified the deceased victim as Thomas Anthony Weiner, 30. The two other victims, Fred Douglas Hodge Jr., 61, and Ramon Lee Lyon, 38, sustained injuries that are not life-threatening.

RPD homicide detectives are leading the follow-up investigation of the incident.
