Enloe High student wins essay contest

Courtney Pisano, a student at Enloe High School in Raleigh, was one of 10 students to win a scholarship for writing an essay on being fearless.

The National Society of High School Scholars launched the “Be Fearless” essay writing contest to inspire young leaders to share their stories. The international organization highlights the accomplishments of high school students who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, scholarship and community commitment.

Winners of the contest demonstrated outstanding leadership by offering their perspectives in a 500-word essays on “what it means to you to be fearless,” and were awarded $500 scholarships.
