From staff reportsApril 27, 2014

Raleigh police say a driver will face DWI and other charges after a two-vehicle collision Saturday on Interstate 440 near Jones Franklin Road killed one person and injured two others.

Jacob Alexander Press, 21, will be charged with DWI, careless and reckless driving, felony death by motor vehicle, and felony serious injury by motor vehicle after an accident that police say occurred when Press’ 1988 Toyota pickup crossed the median and collided with a 2011 Toyota sedan around 5:15 p.m. Saturday.

The Toyota sedan was being driven by Rex Houston Todd, 67, who died from the crash after being transported to Raleigh’s WakeMed hospital, police said. His wife, Mary Louise Todd, 66, who was the sole passenger, remains hospitalized at WakeMed with serious injuries.

Police say they intend to charge Press after he is released from WakeMed.

No home towns of anyone involved in the wreck were immediately provided.
