Calling all farmers market managers!

April 29, 2014

At the State Farmers Market, shoppers buy vegetables offered by Lee's Produce in Meadow. North Carolina is becoming one of the nation's top states for local farmers markets, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

We’re compiling our annual list of Triangle farmers markets.

This year, we’re asking market managers to enter the information about their market online to be included in the list. The deadline for entries is midnight May 7.

Go to, register and click “Events,” then click on “Add to our listings.” List your market’s name as the event title, choose “Farmers’ Market” as the category and add the words “farmers market” to the tags. Tell us the market’s address, hours, days of operation, and list your website.

If you don’t want your favorite market to be left off the list, please share this notice with your market manager.

If you have any trouble or would like more detailed instructions, please email Andrea Weigl at

News & Observer is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news. We encourage lively, open debate on the issues of the day, and ask that you refrain from profanity, hate speech, personal comments and remarks that are off point. Thank you for taking the time to offer your thoughts.
