From 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, 20 percent of sales will benefit Broughton High School, and shoppers can also enjoy refreshments. Jitty’s is at 2014 Cameron St., Raleigh; 919-594-1344.

• Also in Cameron Village, Bailey’s Fine Jewelry will have new looks and one-of-a-kind pieces from Ippolita for a trunk show Thursday. To reserve an appointment, call 919-829-7337.

• Light Art+Design welcomes jewelry designer Sarah Loertscher to share some of her latest designs for a trunk show from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday. Light Art+Design is at 601 W. Rosemary St., Chapel Hill; 919-942-7077.

• Sister designers Shawn Hecox and Samantha Hitchcock will visit Vermillion in North Hills for a trunk show of new pieces from their The Woods Fine Jewelry line May 7-8. To schedule an appointment, call 919-787-9780.

Headband anniversary

Local company Headbands of Hope celebrates its second year in business with a Make Your Own Headband event Thursday at Duke Children’s Hospital in Durham. Girls can choose their own headband and flower.

Headbands of Hope was created for girls who are undergoing chemotherapy and have lost their hair. The headbands have become popular for all girls and women, even those not facing cancer.

With every purchase, the company donates $1 to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation to fund childhood cancer research.
