Wrong-way driver involved in I-40 westbound accident near Chapel Hill

A traffic accident closed the westbound lanes of Interstate 40 near Chapel Hill on Friday morning, according to the state Department of Transportation.

The left lane of Interstate 40 has been reopened near Chapel Hill after a traffic accident near mile marker 268 Friday morning, according to the state Department of Transportation.

The accident was between the US 15-501 and NC 86 exits near Chapel Hill.

A driver going the wrong way on Interstate 40 was to blame for the accident, ABC11 has reported.
