From staff reportsMay 2, 2014

— A 27-year-old Raleigh man was charged with sexual exploitation of a minor after, city police said, he sent Internet videos of young girls to an undercover Cary policeman.

Deantony Smith was arrested at his home at 1234 Duffy Place on Thursday morning, records show.

He was being held in lieu of $150,000 bail Friday for a court appearance.

According to arrest warrants sworn out by Raleigh police, Smith send the videos that involved prepubescent girls to Cary officer Kevin West, who regularly works on Internet sex-crimes cases, engaging users online when police information shows their computer addresses are in the Cary area.

Raleigh police said it happened between March 7 and April 11.

The charges against Smith were six counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
