Noah has knee surgery

The Sports NetworkMay 3, 2014

Chicago Bulls center Joakim Noah underwent surgery Friday to clean out his left knee.

The arthroscopic procedure was performed by head team physician Dr. Brian Cole.

Noah is expected to rehab his left knee during the offseason for the next eight to 12 weeks.

During the regular season, Noah averaged 12.6 points, 11.3 rebounds and 5.4 assists and was honored as the NBA Defensive Player of the Year. He was the anchor of a Chicago defense that yielded a league-low 91.8 points per game.

In the first-round playoff series loss to Washington, those numbers were 10.4 ppg, 12.8 rpg and 4.6 apg.
