Voter turnout almost 16 percent

Posted by Craig Jarvis on May 7, 2014

There was a lot of hubbub but in the end only 15.71 percent of registered voters cast ballots on Tuesday, according to the state Board of Elections.

Still, that’s more than 1 million of the state’s 6.5 million registered voters.

And, it’s better than the last mid-term election turnout: only 14 percent in 2010, and a mere 12 percent in 2006.
