— The downed power lines and debris that closed all lanes of Wade Avenue between Ridge Road and Interstate 440 during the 2 p.m. hour have been removed and the road has reopened, Raleigh police say.

As of 2:45 p.m. officials were diverting traffic from both directions and crews were making repairs.

It wasn’t immediately clear why the lines were down. A utility pole near the road failed “for unknown reasons this afternoon,” according to the Raleigh Police Department. The department reported no wrecks or injuries from the incident.
