Firefighters search for man who fell overboard in Jordan Lake

Chatham County rescue and STAR team members in boats at right, gather near the sight on Jordan Lake near Farrington Point where a person was reported overboard Wednesday morning. The person was said to have fallen from the boat at left. After an hour without finding the overboard boater, the rescue teams went into recovery mode and started to search for the body.

Chatham County rescue and STAR team members, in boats at right, gather near the sight on Jordan Lake near Farrington Point where a man was reported overboard shortly after 10 a.m. Wednesday. The man was said to have fallen from the boat at left. After an hour without finding the man, the rescue teams went into recovery mode and started to search for his body. Firefighters from the North Chatham Volunteer Fire Department and the Apex Fire Department had boats in the water, searching about 200 yards east of the Farrington Road bridge. By Wednesday evening, the man’s body still had not been recovered.
