Mount Olive minister pleads guilty to child porn charges

— A Pentecostal minister from Mount Olive pleaded guilty Wednesday to child pornography possession in a federal court in Raleigh, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.

Timothy Jack Strickland, 42, was affiliated with Jones Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church, according to church listings and state records. A Federal Bureau of Investigation agent met Strickland online last year and determined that he had pornographic images of children, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

A search later found approximately 11,000 image of child pornography on devices in Strickland’s home, according to the attorney’s office.

Strickland faces up to 20 years in prison on the child pornography charge, according to the attorney’s office. He is scheduled to be sentenced in August.
