Houston, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - The Texas Rangers placed left-hander Matt Harrison on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday.

Harrison started and pitched just 1 2/3 innings in Tuesday's 8-0 loss to Houston before leaving the game with back stiffness. He was diagnosed with lower back inflammation and will have an injection on Friday to try and alleviate the symptoms before considering other options.

The 28-year-old is 1-1 this season with a 4.15 ERA.

In a corresponding move, Texas recalled right-handed pitcher Miles Mikolas from Triple-A Round Rock. Mikolas, who began the season on the DL, has posted a 3.38 ERA in eight innings this season for Round Rock.

The Rangers also placed Martin Perez on the DL with inflammation in his left elbow. Nick Tepesch was recalled from Round Rock to start Wednesday's rubber match against the Astros.
