Security guard stabbed at Raleigh strip mall on Capital Boulevard

Raleigh police arrested a man for stabbing a security guard early Sunday morning.

Just before 2:30 a.m., Raleigh police responded to a stabbing at a small strip mall on Capital Boulevard near New Hope Church Road. The victim, a security guard named Earl George Carroll Jr., 43, was stabbed in the torso and transported to WakeMed.

A suspect was being held by a second security guard. Police arrested Michael Vincent Ciriello, 20, and charged him with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. He was being held at the Wake County Detention Center.
