Durham's Pit Restaurant robbed; two assaulted, police say

From Staff ReportsMay 18, 2014

— Three people committed armed robbery and aggravated assault just before 9 p.m. Sunday at the Pit Restaurant at 321 West Geer St., police said.

The suspects entered the restaurant through the rear doors, “brandishing handguns (and) forcing several of the staff to lie on the floor,” police said in a statement.

The suspects assaulted two restaurant workers, but neither needed medical treatment. The suspects then ran out the same way they had come in, leaving in an easterly direction, the statement said.

Police said they had no further information to release Sunday night.
