Reynolds expanding Forsyth plant, adding 200 jobs

R.J. Reynolds Tobacco is expanding its manufacturing plant in Forsyth County and adding 200 jobs.

Gov. Pat McCrory’s office announced the expansion Friday morning. Winston-Salem-based Reynolds is expanding its Tobaccoville facility to produce the company’s e-cigarette Vuse.

The expansion will allow Reynolds to increase production as it moves to distribute Vuse nationally. Reynolds unveiled Vuse in June of 2013.

“We looked at other potential locations when we were considering where to expand our operations,” Reynolds American CEO Susan Cameron said in a statement. “But when it came right down to it, we believe that with the skilled manufacturing workforce here in North Carolina and the business climate our state works hard to support, the choice was clear.”

The company received no state incentives for the project.
