CARY — As they compiled an inventory of items seized during the arrests of a man and woman charged with trafficking drugs from a Cary house, Wake County sheriff's deputies Thursday added a dozen more drug charges for each of the suspects and determined that one of 32 guns they found had been reported stolen.
With the added charges, bail rose to $1.2 million for Joseph Kelvin Sutton, 25, and to $700,000 for Maria Alejandra Juri, 23, and they were scheduled to be in court for the second day in a row.
Deputies arrested the two at Juris home on Piperwood Drive on Wednesday night, when they accused them of trafficking in marijuana, heroin and cocaine and possessing several other drugs.
The arrests, investigators said, came after they had begun working on information that someone named Joe was traveling back and forth to Miami to get drugs and selling them in the Raleigh area.
A database check of the guns, which deputies said included assault rifles and handguns, showed that a 9 mm semiautomatic pistol had been reported stolen, so Sutton and Juri were charged with possession of a stolen gun.
Among the drugs that led to the charges added Thursday were two strengths of oxycodone, two of morphine sulfate and two of a compound of hydrocodone and acetaminophen.
In the arrest, deputies said they found 24.7 pounds of marijuana in the house and another 2 pounds in Suttons car.
