Ida Elaine Szlosberg: Honor soldiers’ sacrifice

May 25, 2014

I have some thoughts on the coming anniversary of D-Day. I was born in London and grew up there during World War II. I have recently been reading some historical accounts of the war. What struck me was that despite some strategic mistakes and in-fighting of the powers that be, the war was eventually won because of the self-sacrifice and tremendous bravery of ordinary Americans. We are grateful and will always remember them.
