Raleigh Police investigate weekend homicide

— A man who ran his car off Capital Boulevard late Saturday night and later died had been shot before the wreck, Raleigh Police said Sunday.

According to a police statement, Travis Donovan Rhodes was driving northbound on Capital Boulevard when his car veered left, crossed the median and came to rest on the west side of the road just before midnight Saturday.

Rhodes was taken to WakeMed, where it was discovered he had been shot in the torso. His death is being investigated as a homicide.
