East Chapel Hill High wins challenge

A team of ninth- and 10th-grade students at East Chapel Hill High won the Regional/State Euro Challenge competition for the third years in a row.

The academic competition,held at UNC-Chapel Hill, focused on economics and the European Union.

The team included Adrianna Lorenzini, Ceci Creissen, Max Gilchrist, Cynthia Dong, Emme McManus, Sherri Chen, Jake Schulman, Baxter Barrett, Chris Hassel, Lucas Kim and Jenni Suwanmanee.

The competition requires students to research and prepare a 15-minute presentation on solving a particular economic problem exemplified by a country in the European Union. Students are then subjected to 10 minutes of questions about their presentation from college professors, business professionals and dignitaries affiliated with the European Union.
