Elizabeth Ann Minges and Robert Cummings Paschal, Jr. were united in marriage at five o’clock in the evening May 17, 2014 at Caneel Bay, St. John, US Virgin Islands. The ceremony was officiated by Reverend Jeffery Neevel.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bradford Wayne Minges of Raleigh. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Mickie Jernigan Davis and the late Mr. Alton Ray Davis, Sr. of Bladenboro and Mrs. Georgia Blue Minges of Southern Pines, formerly of Fayetteville, and the late Mr. Carroll Wayne Minges.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Cummings Paschal of Raleigh. He is the grandson of Mrs. Anna Lee Dorsett and the late Mr. James Kye Dorsett, Jr. of Raleigh and the late Dr. and Mrs. George Washington Paschal, Jr. of Raleigh.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father. The maid of honor was Caroline Davis Minges, sister of the bride, of Raleigh. The bridesmaids were Anna Lee Paschal, sister of the groom, and Molly Todd Allen of Charlotte, and Emily Pamela Deckelbaum and Celeste Alexiou of Raleigh.
The best man was Mr. Robert Cummings Paschal, father of the groom. Groomsmen were Andrew Dorsett Paschal, brother of the groom, George Edgar Viall, III, Adam Brown Zaytoun, and Gray Ellis Pendelton all of Raleigh.
Elise Lockett Dorsett and Rush Terrell Dorsett, cousins of the groom, provided vocal music for the ceremony and Grace Landon Dorsett, cousin of the groom, served as scripture reader.
The bride is a graduate of Needham Broughton High School and Appalachian State University with a degree in Communications. She was presented at the 2006 North Carolina Terpsichorean Debutante Ball.
The groom is a graduate of Carlbrook School and Campbell University with a degree in Business Administration. He served in the US Army and is a member of the North Carolina Terpsichorean Club.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at the Estate House at Caneel Bay. The groom’s parents hosted a sunset cruise for wedding guests and on the eve of the wedding, hosted a rehearsal dinner at Asolare in St. John.
Following a honeymoon on Peter Island in the British Virgin Islands, the couple will make their home in Raleigh.
