Wendell man charged with assault

— A Wendell man was charged with assault by strangulation and assault with a deadly weapon resulting in serious injury during the weekend.

The victim alleged Robert Wayne Allmon, 28, bruised the victim, who was not named, and strangled her with his bands, according to warrants in the case.

Warrants say Allmon also hit the victim with a 2”-by-4” board, resulting in serious injury. Allmon will appear in court Monday.

In 2012, Allmon was asked to enrolled in court-ordered anger management after being convicted of assault and battery and simple assault. In 2007 he had to pay $1,000 in restitution after being convicted of felony possessionof stolen goods. From staff reports
