Raleigh man, 17, charged with peeping and sex crimes, has bail set at $1.55M

June 1, 2014

— A 17-year-old in Raleigh faces three counts each of first-degree sexual offense and secret peeping and two counts of having photos from peeping in what authorities said was an incident last summer.

Kendrick James Sheppard Jr. was being held in lieu of posting $1.55 million in bail and is ordered to have no contact with minors.

Raleigh police arrested Sheppard on Saturday afternoon on charges that he secretly recorded young girls while they were naked and inappropriately touched the girls while they were asleep.

According to warrants, the incidents happened last August. He also was charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession.

Warrants say Sheppard touched one victim inappropriately while she was sleeping and used a cell phone camera to videotape the victim as she changed clothes by sliding the phone under the door.

Warrants also say he touched his genitals to those of a victim under 13 years of age.

He was slated for a first court appearance Monday.
