Woman rescued from fire that destroys Fuquay-Varina apartment

— Firefighters were called to a Fuquay-Varina apartment complex in the 120 block of Hillcrest Circle early Wednesday morning after flames engulfed one of the units, ABC11 reports.

Neighbors told ABC11 that a 90-year-old woman lived at the apartment with her grandson. They said she was rescued from the building and taken to the hospital in an ambulance after going into cardiac arrest. She was also burned, according to EMS crews.
