Meet Mildred Council, owner of Mama Dip’s, at North Raleigh bakery

Mildred Council, the owner of Mama Dip's restaurant in Chapel Hill, will be in North Raleigh Saturday.

Mildred Council, owner and founder of Mama Dip’s restaurant in Chapel Hill, will be coming to Raleigh Saturday afternoon to visit a friend’s cake shop.

Bobby Outlaw, owner of Premier Cakes in North Raleigh, said Council was going to come to the North Raleigh bakery from 12:30-3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Premier Cakes used to be located inside Fitzgerald’s Seafood but has since opened its own location at 6617 Falls of Neuse Road, Suite 105. Outlaw explained the shop is next to Salon Blu and behind Red Hot and Blue restaurant.

The shop, which has only been open about a month, sells up to 20 different kinds of cake by the slice as well as specialty cakes. They specialize in three-layer, nine-inch cakes. Their most popular flavors are sweet potato cake nad hummingbird cake.

The bakery is open from 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Mondays-Saturdays, noon-6 p.m. Sundays. Info:
