Quintiles named to CIO list

Durham-based Quintiles, the world's largest pharmaceutical services company, has been named by CIO magazine to its CIO 100, which honors organizations for their effective and innovative use of IT.

Quintiles was named to the list for its drug safety technology platform.

Earlier this week Quintiles made the Fortune 500 list for the first time. Quintiles ranked No. 486. on the list of the largest companies.

Quintiles has 28,200 workers worldwide and 2,300 in the Triangle.

The company has surpassed the $1 billion revenue mark in each of its last two quarters. For all of 2013, Quintiles posted revenue of $3.81 billion, up 3.1 percent from 2012.

The company projects that revenue for all of 2014 will range between $4.09 billion and $4.15 billion.
