Statistically speaking: Small- and medium-size business owners' earnings increase

According to SCORE, mentors to America’s small businesses, small-business owners are more optimistic about their future, in part, because their earnings are increasing.

Here are the average revenues for U.S. small and medium businesses.

24.4 percent earn less than $5,000

16.9 percent earn from $5,000 to $10,000

25.3 percent earn from $10,000 to $25,000

13.5 percent earn from $25,000 to $50,000

9.6 percent earn from $50,000 to $100,000
