Clifton and Margaret Watson: Good Samaritans

June 13, 2014

Recently, we were traveling home from grocery shopping when we stopped for a red light. Our car knocked off and would not start again. We had forgotten to bring our cell phone and had no way to get help. Our car was blocking heavy traffic in Durham.

Thank God for two ladies who offered their cell phones for us to call the police. These dear ladies were so kind and helpful. They pushed our car by hand across Duke Street into Leon Street, freeing the traffic and putting us in a better and safer place to wait for help. We will always remember them and be thankful for their help and kindness.

Very soon, the police arrived. Durham Police Chief Jose Lopez called our son and provided the police to be with us until our son and a tow truck came. A special thanks to Lopez and our police force in Durham for its help and hard work.

Don’t tell us there are not good people around. We know better!
