Wake deputies search for jewelry bandits

— Wake County sheriff’s deputies are looking for what they described as “five person of interest” in connection to someone taking a large quantity of jewelry from a vendor at the N.C. State Fairgrounds.

The theft occurred about a week ago, on June 8 just before 3 p.m. inside the Kerr Scott Building at the N.C. State Fairgrounds.

The investigators have not describe, or disclosed the value of the items that were taken, but made public on Friday afternoon still photos of five people who may know more about the theft.

Officers are asking anyone who recognizes any of the subjects in the photos, or has any information about the incident to contact the Wake County Sheriff’s Office at (919) 856-6800, the State Fairgrounds Police Department at (919) 821-7400 or (919) 291-5182.
