Raleigh woman faces drug charges

From Staff ReportsJune 14, 2014

A Raleigh woman, 36, was arrested Friday night and charged with possession of 13.8 pounds of marijuana.

Kendra Jones was arrested about 6:30 p.m. at 4501 Atlantic Ave., according to the Raleigh Police Department.

Jim Sughrue, a police spokesman, said the amount was noteworthy but not shocking.

“Any time you start talking pounds, you’re talking a significant amount,” he said. “But this is not a drug kingpin.”

Jones was being held Saturday at the Wake County Detention Center in Raleigh, with bail set at $75,000.
