Casting call for adventurous local families moving abroad

Orion Entertainment is looking for local families planning to move abroad for a new travel-based docu-reality series set to run on a well-known national cable network.

A small camera crew will document the family’s transition to a new country.

Cindy Baggish, a casting producer for Orion Entertainment, said many families in the Research Triangle Park area fit what the show is looking for.

“I know there’s a lot of science and medical professionals in the area who move abroad for a couple years,” she said. “We would love to cast someone from the area.”

Anyone interested should definitely have an adventurous spirit.

The casting website says they are seeking families moving to locations “where living in a grass hut is within the new realm of possibility and acquiring groceries is a little more involved than hopping in a car to the neighborhood supermarket.” The company is most interested in people moving to destinations where there could be issues related to “shelter, food, power, dealing with animal pests and other local hazards indigenous to the local culture.”

Orion Entertainment has also produced shows such as “Creepy Cures” on Nat Geo Wild and “New House New Life” on HGTV.

Families interested in this opportunity should fill out an application at movingabroad.orionentertainment.com.
