    • At North Raleigh Arts and Creative Theatre, Honest Pint Theatre Company has two more weekends of “The Sum of Us,” in which widower Harry and son Jeff pursue relationships. Harry finds divorcee Joyce and Jeff finds like-minded Greg – with full approval from his father. Details at honestpinttheatre.org.

    • N.C. State University Theatre’s summer series’ final entry is Rob Urbinati’s “Death by Design,” a comic British murder mystery concerning a playwright and his wife at a country estate where a guest is found dead. Details at ncsu.edu/theatre.

Next up on Theatre Raleigh’s Hot Summer Nights series is “Other Desert Cities,” Jon Robin Baitz’s 2011 Broadway hit comedy-drama. At a Christmas celebration a woman announces to her family she is publishing a memoir that revisits a tragic secret in their past. She wants approval but the night turns into a battle between family loyalty and artistic honesty. 8 p.m. Friday; 2 and 8 p.m. Saturday; 3 p.m. Sunday (through June 29). $25-$27. 919-480-5166 or theatreraleigh.com.
