SkyHouse high-rise in downtown Raleigh tops out

Posted by David Bracken on June 20, 2014

Construction crews topped out the 23-story SkyHouse Raleigh apartment building on Friday, putting in place the structure for the project’s top floor.

The building is expected to open by the end of the year. Pre-leasing of SkyHouse’s 320 units begins this month.

The project is one of 11 SkyHouse-branded luxury apartment towers that have either opened or are under construction in the Southeast.

The Raleigh tower is the first phase of Edison, the ambitious office and residential project that will eventually cover an entire city block.

The second phase will be a 223-unit apartment complex that is to be built on the south side of the block bounded by Martin, Wilmington, Blount and Davie streets.

The NRP Group, a Cleveland-based developer, plans to begin construction on that project next week.
