Lauryn Johnson, Kayla McNeil and British Maxey have been awarded the Girl Scout Silver Award, the second highest achievement in Girl Scouting.
For their award project, the girls, all of Durham, worked with a variety of service organizations to help others in their community.
The girls worked at the Durham Rescue Mission, the Ronald McDonald House, the Dove House and the Genesis Home. They worked at a Geek-A-Thon, helping refurbish computers for deserving students.
During the National Day of Service, they prepared baskets for residents transitioning from homelessness.
The girls are members of Girl Scout Troop 1518 led by Jackie Maxey.
Lauryn, 15, is the daughter of Greg and Pam Johnson.
Kayla, 13, is the daughter of Crystal and Keith McNeil.
British, 15, is the daughter of Jacqueline and Michael Maxey.
