The Ciompi Quartet, longtime residence ensemble at Duke University, sponsors concerts on Tuesday and Thursday in Kirby Hall at Sarah P. Duke Gardens. For both, Ciompi violist Jonathan Bagg joins soprano Ilana Davidson, guitarist Oren Fader, harpist Stacey Shames, and flutist Laura Gilbert.

Tuesday’s program has works by Schubert, Roussel, Villa Lobos, Rorem and David Kirkland Garner. On Thursday, there’s another piece by Garner, along with two by Duke faculty members – “YTTE” by Scott Lindroth and “Offering” by Stephen Jaffe. These last two are on a new Albany Records CD, “Elation,” featuring the same performers. 7:30 p.m. each night. $20 ($15 for students; $10 for 16 and under). 919-684-4444 or
