Orange is the new black (cat)

Adopt a fully vetted Poussey cat (or maybe a Piper or a Taystee?) when rescue group Alley Cats & Angels kicks off their “Orange Is the New Black” adoption event with special emphasis on orange and black cats and kittens. Every weekend through July (see website for all event times and locations).

Kitchen chemistry

Let the kids get messy learning about the chemistry of cooking. They’ll use a microscope to examine crystals, analyze candy dyes, make polymer worms and more.

Explore Northside

Take a walking tour of Chapel Hill’s historic Northside neighborhood, a predominantly black community that played an important role during the Civil Rights Movement.
