Police arrest man, seize truck after 100 mph Wake Forest chase

— Police charged that a 29-year-old town resident was impaired while driving his pickup truck and led them on a chase at over 100 mph early Friday.

Douglas Gregory Pearce of 128 E. Vernon Ave. was arrested shortly before 2 a.m. and charged with driving while impaired and felony fleeing to elude arrest, records showed.

Pearce was driving a 2013 Toyota Tacoma when Officer J.T. Boone tried to stop him for speeding, according to an arrest warrant.

A seizure notice for Pearce’s pickup said the chase got to over 100 mph on N.C. 98 before they stopped him on John Allen Road.

Pearce was being held on $4,000 bail for a court appearance Friday.
